Thierry Olivry, Ph.D.

Professor of Immunodermatology at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Olivry has 25 years’ experience working as a veterinary dermatologist. Since 1993, he has been a clinician-scientist researching the pathogenesis (mechanism), modeling and treatment of atopic dermatitis (atopic eczema) and its itch in dogs and have published and lectured extensively in this field. He also has more than 15 years of experience consulting with pharmaceutical companies on these topics. Current projects on atopic dermatitis include modeling itch and allergic skin lesions experimentally to discover novel methods for their treatment and prevention. He earned his Dr.Vet from Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse, Université Paul-Sabatier, Toulouse, France, and obtained a Ph.D. in Comparative Pathology from the University of California Davis.
